Kalabang Village Homestay is a perfect place to experience a traditional Gurung lifestyle. This village offers a panoramic view of the Annapurna Mountain and Phewa Lake. The area is ideal for hiking. It also offers the chance to meet local people.

The villagers of this village are hospitable and warm. You can even enjoy a cup of coffee made from the local coffee bean. Guests can also experience a meal served from the villagers' garden. They will tell you about their daily life and the traditions of the region.

Aside from this, the villagers offer a cultural program to tourists. During this time, guests can also learn about the ancient Hindu gumba places and the Hindu religion. Moreover, they can also taste the local liquor made from millet.

The community homestays provide an alternative source of income for the local community. In addition, they encourage the local youth to stay in the village. Moreover, they have helped the migrant and returned migrant families in enhancing their economic wellbeing.

In 2017, the Homestay in Kalabang was awarded the Best Homestay award. With the help of the Asian Forum and the JMDI project, this initiative was launched. By the end of the first year, the number of homes offering Homestays had increased from nine to 18 households.

The host project also included capacity building activities and cooperation with tourism entrepreneurs. This led to the improvement of living conditions for vulnerable groups and the development of the tourism sector.
