Local specialties include momo, noodles, dal bhat, and an array of street food. For an authentic taste of Kathmandu, try Newari cuisine. Many local eateries are scattered throughout the Kathmandu Valley, and it's always a good idea to ask locals or your tour guide for recommendations. Pokhara offers a similar dining scene to Kathmandu, with some places even boasting better restaurant options.
You can always use your credit card, but please note that the bank charges a 4% fee. ATMs are widely available, as both cities are rapidly growing in Nepal.
